AWARD-WINNING VANCOUVER ACTOR BEVERLEY ELLIOTT COMES TO THE RED BARN IN SOUTH DELTA FOR A STORYTELLING DOUBLE FEATURE

Get ready for an extraordinary double feature as Delta Stageworks proudly presents acclaimed actor Beverley Elliott in her enchanting musical storytelling show Sink or Swim, sponsored by Southlands Grange, on Saturday April 20, 2024 at the Red Barn at Southlands, Tsawwassen.

Sink or Swim: A Heartfelt Exploration

With musical direction by award-winning Vancouver musician Bill Costin, the cabaret-style show is a funny, poignant and critically acclaimed production that’s traveled from being the winner of the 2016 Pick of the Vancouver Fringe Festival, to New York and back again. Featuring original songs, it delves into Beverley’s early years in rural Ontario, blending heartfelt exploration with playful storytelling.

Described as “childhood stories for adults”, Sink or Swim navigates uncharted waters filled with surprises, big adventures, and the betrayals that shape the journey we take on our way to our grownup selves. Directed by multi-disciplinary theatre artist Lynna Goldhar-Smith, and written by Beverley, Sink or Swim promises a fabulous evening of theatre in the beautifully restored Red Barn.

Tickets also include a charcuterie board and a wine and beer bar. Partial proceeds from the evening – including an online auction – will go towards Stageworks fall show, To Perfection playing at Genesis Theatre in October.

The community is also welcome to join an exclusive storytelling workshop with the celebrated Vancouver artist, known globally for her role as “Granny” on ABC’s Once Upon A Time, on the same day. The storytelling workshop runs 11am-1pm and Sink or Swim, sponsored by Southlands Grange, runs 6:30 pm-10:00 pm (doors at 630pm, show begins at 8pm). Open  to participants aged 17+.
